The Lakes Course is a mixture of water-filled canyons created by open cast mining with its natural land flow left relatively unchanged.

Its front 9 holes run through a landscape of lakes and natural canyons, whilst the back 9 weaves around scenic lakes and stands of rubber trees. From the championship tees, this is a 7,129-yard course capable of challenging the best players in the world. With a range of five sets of tees to choose from, even the average player can enjoy a course with wide fairways and large greens.

Following the success of the challenging Canyon Course, the Lakes Course opened in 1999, offering a whole new challenge to the game of golf with water hazards on 17 out of 18 holes. It is a mixture of water-filled canyons created by open cast mining with its natural land flow left relatively unchanged.

The Lakes Course has been designed to cater for a broader range of golfers with Silver Tees being added between Red and White Tees. With Blue and Black Tees, a total of five sets of Tees offer a complete golfing experience, for all golfers' standards. from the Championship Tees, target driving areas are set at 270 yards to accommodate today's long hitters, enabling the Lakes Course to be the venue for world class tournaments; with the confidence that the challenge will meet the very best golfers from around the world.

Blue Canyon Country Club Facilities

Blue Canyon has indoor and outdoor driving ranges and four practice putting greens, two for each course. Lessons are available from professionals for golfers of every standard and leading brands of equipment are available from the pro shop. There are two restaurants, the Golfers’ Terrace, and the Canyon Restaurant, for that special dinner.

Locker room service include sauna, steam room, Jacuzzi and a variety of massages.

A very wide fairway gives the golfer some strategic choice on the tee shot. The safer "high road" to the left leaves a longer second shot over another sheer-sided canyon. The shorter "low road" to the right flirts with the same canyon, but rewards a good drive with a shorter second shot.

Hole 18 Par 4 HCP 2

A single tree separates fairway options. The high left side allows a beautiful view of a small green slotted between high rust tinted canyon walls, step grassed mounds and a vegetation fringed water filled canyon. A single bunker provides "relief" for slightly pulled second shots. Over safe long second shots find rough slopes, awkward to chip from. There is nowhere to hide on one of golf's most testing holes.
