Sa
Udon Thani's historical outlook changed with the discovery of
artifacts at Ban Chiang indicating a prehistoric settlement dating back
5,000 or more years. Excavations of this important archaeological site
continue, with the prized finds housed in a National Museum at the
site, including the beautiful Ban Chiang pottery, tools and utensils.
Other archaelogical finds can be seen at Phu Phra Bat Historical park,
including cliff paintings, caves and caverns, unusual rocks, and a
Buddha's footprint. Beautiful mudmee silk and khit fabrics are made
in the province.
